When is The First Descendant Release Date Window?

The release date for The First Descendant has been confirmed for Summer 2024. It will be released on various multiple platforms including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
This announcement was made during The Game Awards 2023 and we also saw an exhilarating new trailer. This release window follows a series of successful beta tests conducted over the past two years. While Nexon aims for a bug-free and polished release, they also consider the game’s schedule for other major releases.
Despite initial expectations for a post-beta launch, Nexon seems to be altering its typical release pattern. For instance, MapleStory Evolution launched only a month after the closed beta. Then, KartRider Drift followed suit with a release just four months after its crossplay beta in August 2022.
Fans are impatiently waiting for The First Descendant’s release this summer, especially since the beta periods were such a success. However, we’re still uncertain about the release date, so it could happen sooner or later in the season.
The First Descendant Open Beta

The recent open beta for The First Descendant was held from September 19 to September 25.
It attracted nearly two million players who had the opportunity to explore the Descendants and their abilities firsthand. Nexon reported receiving substantial feedback and suggestions for improvement from the beta participants, although it remains uncertain whether another open beta will precede the game’s launch.
If you’re interested in the developers’ perspective on the open beta, head over to their Steam page for detailed notes. These notes talk about the feedback received and outline plans for adjustments to missions, UI elements, and gameplay mechanics.
Additionally, a Dev Note post in early February provided further insights into the feedback received and detailed several field improvements being implemented by the developers.
These improvements include enhancements to co-op play, encrypted vaults, Vulgus Recon Outposts, and void fragments, as well as the introduction of a fusion reactor to utilize them. The post also hinted at forthcoming features such as additional difficulty modes, a drop rotation system, and the ability to request assistance during missions.
It’s been some time since the last beta as it happened in September 2023. Therefore, we might expect another beta that will provide an opportunity to address any remaining issues and ensure a smooth launch for the game.
Given the importance of server readiness in online games, conducting further beta tests to optimize server performance is likely a priority for the development team.
The First Descendant Trailers
Bunny is already the most beloved descendant of all time, and we mean it in the most literal sense. She is the quickest playable character, as well as the ability to create electricity, as seen in her debut trailer. We have a good feeling that she will ignite something in the game’s audience.
If you find Bunny a bit too… animated, Sharen could be more to your liking.
Her voiceover states, “If there were a God, he wouldn’t have left me like this.” This is because the Descendant’s limbless body is hooked up to some kind of machine at the beginning of her trailer.
This undoubtedly has a lot more depressing tone. Oh, no. This cunning assassin will undoubtedly be a great Descendant pick if she can channel even half of that pain into combat.
A second trailer, which debuted at the 2023 Game Awards, depicted the ethereal realm and offered us a peek at the Descendant’s apparent camaraderie with a number of characters prior to her turning against them and unleashing blue lasers.
Additionally, a huge boss that resembles a turtle is shown. This could provide an enjoyable challenge in the next multiplayer game. The summer 2024 release window was also disclosed in this trailer.
The First Descendant Gameplay

The gameplay in The First Descendant is a good blend of Destiny 2, Warframe, and Outriders, with fluid mobility and a variety of skills.
Eleven distinct Descendants, each with a unique playstyle and personality in battle, have been introduced to us thus far. When The First Descendant eventually releases, we’re sure you’ll be able to spend endless hours immersed in its collectible look.
The characters and fighting are engaging right away. However, there’s space for better mission variety to be enhanced after the beta phases. Feedback from beta testers highlighted repetitive mission design as an area for enhancement.
The very repetitious mission design throughout the play tests detracted from the beautiful landscapes. Gamers hope that the launch variety will be better because this was one of the key pieces of input the team got.
We are happy to see that cross-platform multiplayer is included in the game’s launch features, as it will be available on almost all platforms. This will greatly simplify completing missions and gathering treasure with pals.
Although we don’t know yet whether The First Descendant will rank among the best free-shooting games when it launches, it clearly has a lot of potential.
The First Descendant System Requirements

There is a wide range of requirements for the First Descendants system. Although the game is simple to run, the recommended specifications have a high bar. Since The First Descendant is an Unreal Engine 5 game, there is still time for things to change. If anything, there’s a high chance that they might go up.
